Physiatry & Interventional Pain Management

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation 

Physiatrists are also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians. They treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. They perform procedures including:

  • EMG
  • NCS
  • Peripheral joint injections
  • Trigger point injections
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound
  • Spasticity management
  • Interventional spinal therapeutics

Injections

Our physiatrists perform injections which are a nonsurgical treatment option for back and neck pain that are considered before surgery. Injections can provide pain relief and can be used as a diagnostic tool to help identify the source of your pain. Common types of injections include:

  • Epidural steroid injection
  • Selective nerve root block (SNRB)
  • Facet joint block
  • Sacroiliac joint block
