Sometimes, a minor health issue should be treated right away. UConn Health's urgent care clinic is here for you—providing efficient and timely care when you need it.
Urgent care is available when you need medical attention and can’t wait for an appointment at your doctor’s office.
We provide care for your entire family—no appointment needed.

What Urgent Care Can Help With
- Common Cold and Flu Symptoms
When you feel under the weather with symptoms like a runny nose, cough, or mild fever, urgent care can help. Our expert teams can provide relief and guide you in managing your symptoms. - Minor Injuries
Minor cuts, burns, sprains, and strains—urgent care teams are equipped to handle a range of injuries that require immediate attention without the need for a visit to the emergency room. - Infections
Suppose you are experiencing a mild infection like a minor skin infection or urinary tract infection. In that case, urgent care is prepared to diagnose, prescribe treatments, and get you on a path to recovery quicker. - Non-Severe Allergic Reactions
Providers in urgent care settings can help you identify and treat mild allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling, or other minor allergy symptoms. They’ll get you the appropriate care and advice for relief.
What to Expect at Urgent Care
When you arrive at the urgent care facility, our reception team will check if you have an online or walk-in appointment, help you register, and show you to the waiting area. Please check your MyChart account for confirmation if you made an appointment online.
We prioritize appointments based on urgency to help everyone get the care they need promptly.
When you are called back to the treatment area, a care provider will assess the nature of your visit, explain the recommended care options, and proceed accordingly with treatment. Our goal is to help you receive treatment quickly and efficiently.

Urgent Care vs. ER – Making the Right Choice
Learn when to Choose Urgent Care Vs. ErUrgent Care centers are a good choice for minor health concerns, yet there are times when you should visit the ER instead. To help you, think of it this way: While urgent care is designed for efficiency and promptness, the ER sees patients with more severe cases who may need specialized care—like stroke, heart attack, seizures, and other life-threatening medical situations.
