Students Today, Medical, Dental & Healthcare Leaders Tomorrow
We’re shaping the future of medicine at UConn Health. As an academic medical center, our national experts conduct the latest medical research while educating the next generation of doctors, dentists, and healthcare leaders at the School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, and Graduate School.
Students at the schools of UConn Health have endless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of patients throughout Connecticut and the Tri-State area from day one.
UConn School of Medicine
At the UConn School of Medicine, our expert faculty provide hands-on training for medical students, residents, fellows, and researchers. Our medical students get firsthand experience participating in cutting-edge scientific research and practicing patient care at UConn Health, Connecticut’s only public academic medical center.
UConn School of Dental Medicine
Since 1972, the UConn School of Dental Medicine – the only public dental school in New England – has trained approximately half of all the actively practicing dentists throughout Connecticut. Students at the School of Dental Medicine have access to small teacher-student ratios and hands-on training at one of the nation’s top dental schools.
The Graduate School
Students looking to pursue the next stage of their health education can choose between four areas of study at The Graduate School: Biomedical Science, Public Health, Clinical and Translational Research, and Dental Science. Graduate students have access to mentoring and training from UConn Health’s expert faculty and staff.
Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
Postdoctoral students at UConn Health can access the tools for a successful career in healthcare through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Here, postdoctoral students can find career development assistance, hiring help, and individualized support as they start their exciting careers in life sciences at UConn Health.
Continuing Medical Education
As part of an academic medical center, UConn Health offers Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities for a wide range of medical professionals. Whether you are a full-time practitioner, an academic physician interested in research and teaching, a primary care provider, or any other health-related professional, our CME credits offered through UConn’s School of Medicine are evidence-based, tailored to specific audiences, and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
