Symptoms
The most obvious signs and symptoms of hemophilia are easy bruising and prolonged bleeding, which may occur internally or externally. Symptoms depend on the type of hemophilia (A or B) and the severity of the condition, which can be mild, moderate, or severe.
Mild hemophilia may cause increased bleeding after accidents, surgeries, or dental procedures. However, severe hemophilia could result in spontaneous bleeding.
In many cases, there is no family history of hemophilia. It is important to recognize these signs and symptoms and speak to your provider about your concerns.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of Hemophilia includes a personal history of bleeding, a family history of excessive bleeding or diagnosis, and laboratory blood testing.
Managing Your Diagnosis
Following a diagnosis of hemophilia, it may be difficult for you or your child to take ownership or feel empowered. We can also assist in many other medical areas, including preparing you for dental procedures, pregnancy and childbirth, surgery, and other procedures.
